Selva Almada Trilogy
Selva Almada Trilogy
The Selva Almada Trilogy, or the “Trilogy of Men” as the author has called it, comprises three standalone novels that are thematically connected by Almada’s penetrating yet empathetic observation of the masculine world. Stories of violence and conflict among friends, families and communities, rooted in clashing desires, loyalties or belief systems – and the fallout for the women around them. Like a character in its own right, the landscape of north-east Argentina is a constant, brooding presence, hauntingly depicted thanks to Almada’s intimate knowledge of the region.

"There is a tremendous carnality to Almada’s writing, vividly captured in McDermott’s translation" —LA Review of Books
