Updated: 20 May 2018

Security and privacy of personal information is of paramount concern  at Charco Press. Here we set out what we do, and what we don't do, with any personal data shared with us as part of interacting with the Charco Press website (referred to as 'the Website').

1 - WHAT DO YOU DO WITH MY INFORMATION?

There are only two instances where Charco Press requests any of your personal information:

  1. When you buy stuff from us
  2. When you sign up to receive our newsletter

When you purchase something from our store, as part of the buying and selling process, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, delivery address and email address. This is so that we can communicate with you as to the progress of your order, and successfully deliver your order to you.

Additionally, approximately every 1 - 2 months we produce a newsletter about Charco Press, providing updates regarding our books, authors, events and other information. If you sign up to our newsletter, and grant consent for us to send you the newsletter, we will ask for your email address in order to deliver this to you.

2 - CONSENT

How do you obtain my consent?

When you provide us with personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery or return a purchase, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only.

If we ask for any personal information for a secondary reason, such as subscribing to our newsletter, we will ask you clearly for your expressed consent to use that data for the stated purpose only.

Can I withdraw my consent later?

Of course. If at any time after you opt-in for our newsletter you change your mind, you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you, either by clicking on the 'Unsubscribe' option at the footer of our newsletter, or by contacting us.

Can I change or delete any of my data that you hold?

Absolutely. If you wish to change any of the information of yours that we hold, you can do so either by clicking on the 'Update my details' link at the footer of our newsletter, or by contacting us. We will also happily remove all data of yours that we hold. Again, just contact us and request us to do so.
